Exhibition of the lo-brow so-cal inspired art from Encinitas native Scrojo at the Encintas Library. Exhibition runs June 28 thru August 29. 540 Cornish Dr Encinitas CA 760 753 7376. Artist Reception July 23 5:30-8:30pm

Artist Statement:
"I was born and raised in Encinitas, a child of the 70’s & 80’s. My work is a direct reflection of that exposure. Surf, skate, punk, mexicana, comics, anime, tiki, pop art, rockabilly....... All things so-cal low-brow pop regurgitation condensed into one artist.
The concept for the theme of this show started out simple, art inspired by growing up in Encinitas during the 70’s and 80’s. Then I decided to complicate things. I invited other locals to sponsor the individual pieces and have a say in the creative process. The result was a cluster-dump train wreck of nostalgic influences ..... And I love it. Bringing in others forced me to expand my understanding of the area and demanded I go in creative directions I normally wouldn’t. I hope you enjoy this love-letter to Encinitas as much as I enjoyed making it."
