The Savoy Brown Blues Band was formed in London in 1965, and were among the initial wave of British blues rock bands to infiltrate America. Led by guitarist Kim Simmonds, the band underwent numerous personnel changes throughout its career but remained faithful to its blues-rock sound. Three of the original founding members left to form Foghat in 1971; despite this loss, it wasn't until the release of 1972's single "Hellbound Train" that they would peak in popularity; the song was eventually used in the hit television show CSI:NY.
