Texas-born Roky Erickson was a founding member of 13th Floor Elevators and is considered a pioneer of the psychedelic rock sound. His 1966 hit single with them, "You're Gonna Miss Me," became an international hit. After leaving the Elevators, he later created his more hard rock-oriented band Roky Erickson and the Aliens. They released a pair of albums in the early '80's produced by Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook, but Erickson withdrew from the music scene soon afterward. He returned to touring again in 2005, performing at the Austin City Limits Festival.
