Former guitarist with The Herd and Humble Pie, Peter Frampton established his own solo career in 1972 with his debut album Winds of Change. Noted for his guitar work he also played keyboards, bass, and drums. His vocals brought the "talkbox" effects pedal/tube mic into popularity. His 1976 smash hit Frampton Comes Alive catapulted him to fame, staying on the Billboard charts for 97 weeks and was a six-time platinum seller.
