Formed in London in early 1966, Pink Floyd soon became notable for their light shows and an unprecedented level of experimentation, mirroring (in a funhouse way) the psychedelic revolution of America's West Coast. Their first U.S. Tour in late 1967 (the only one in which founding member Syd Barrett played) opened in San Francisco at the Fillmore Auditorium and is immortalized on three classic BG posters. The Floyd went on to become one of rock's all time greatest acts; their "The Dark Side of the Moon" album remained on the Billboard Charts for a then-record 741 weeks.
