Considered to be the father of Chicago blues, Muddy Waters was also a major inspiration for the British blues explosion of the 1960s. He was already running the Chicago blues scene in the 1950's along with Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf, and later recorded a pair of classic Chess Label blues standards albums with them and Bo Diddley. His hits include "I Just Want to Make Love to You" and "Hoochie Coochie Man". The Rolling Stones took their name from the title of his 1958 song "Rollin' Stone".
