The Kinks were a British Invasion group formed in London by brothers Ray and Dave Davies in 1964. Their third single, "You Really Got Me" was released in 1964 and became a worldwide hit, reaching #1 in Britain and the Top 10 in the States. Many of their records became some of the most influential of the time, among them Something Else, Arthur, Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, and Muswell Hillbillies. Overall, The Kinks had five Top 10 singles in the States, and nine albums in the Top 40. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
