Iggy Pop fronted the protopunk group The Stooges who signed with Elektra in 1968, following in the footsteps of his main influence, Jim Morrison of The Doors. Their first record was produced by Velvet Underground's John Cale. Iggy went on to team up with David Bowie, who produced the landmark 1973 rock album "Raw Power". Over the course of his career Pop's sound has ventured into glam punk, shock rock, and punk rock. Best known for his stage antics as a vocalist, he also plays guitar, keyboards and drums. He has acted in over a dozen films and is the subject of numerous documentaries.
