Derek Hess has created over 200 posters for bands ranging the spectrum from Nine Inch Nails to Pink Floyd to Dillinger Escape Plan. His strong technical skills and intuitive feel for his medium set him apart from his contemporaries. His works are executed with depth, compassion and an obsessive concentration on the human form.

"I’ve always felt it’s important to imply things in my art, to make things menacing or impending rather than actually showing the result. In a culture that’s so desensitized to actual violence, I find implying something gives you much more mileage."
