Among the first acts to sign with U.K. label Stiff Records, Elvis Costello released his first album "My Aim Is True" in 1977. Well known for his work with his band The Attractions, Costello has proven to be a musical chameleon crossing genres from pop to punk to New Wave to jazz. His solo career has seen him venture into opera and classical as well, and his lyrics are noted for their razor-sharp wit and intelligence. He has entensively collaborated with artists ranging from Paul McCartney to Green Day to Burt Bacharach.
