A former guitarist with The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Elvin Bishop formed his own self-titled group in 1968. A fixture on the local S.F. Bay Area club scene, he replaced Stephen Stills for the "Super Sessions" tour album "The Live Adventures of Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper". In 1976 he released his biggest hit, "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" which was sung by future Jefferson Starship vocalist Mickey Thomas and featured in several movies, and reached #3 on the American music charts.
