Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, and later Jim Messina propelled Buffalo Springfield to stardom with three studio albums and several hit singles, including their breakout 1967 hit, "For What It's Worth." Pioneers of country-rock, alt-country, and heartfelt acoustic compositions, they still rocked with the best of them, as exemplified on the blistering 9-minute version of their hit "Bluebird". The band's influence on the world of rock music can't be underestimated, with their legacy continuing in Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Poco, Loggins and Messina, and Manassas. Neil Young has by far been the most prolific, releasing 44 albums under his own name.
