Albert King was born in Mississippi and grew up listening to blues men Blind Lemon Jefferson and Lonnie Johnson. In 1961 he had his first hit with "Don't Throw Your Love On Me So Strong" which reached #14 on the Billboard chart. Known for his trademark Gibson Flying V guitar named "Lucy", King has cemented his place among the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" along with B.B. King and Freddie King.
